Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th March : Paul Thorne, Andy Askins, Scott Capurso & Quincy

It’s another cracking lineup at Banana Cabaret this weekend.

Paul Thorne is one of Britain’s most established and sought-after stand-ups. As well as performing at all of the UK’s major comedy venues and festivals he can be seen weekly at London’s Comedy Store as a member of The Cutting Edge team of comedians who perform topical material based on the week’s news.

In addition to performing all over Europe Paul has taken his unique brand of comedy as far afield as Hong Kong, Thailand, Canada, Singapore, China and Japan and has toured extensively with Jack Dee, Lee Hurst and Rory Bremner.

Not for the faint-hearted, Scott Capurro’s un-comprising take on his gay lifestyle and white trash background make him as challenging as he is funny. A Perrier Award Winner, he has recently had his first novel published “Fowl Play”, a comedy about murder and date rape, to rave reviews.

Reared in Daly City, California; at age 3, he swam the English Channel. Since 1993, he’s been telling unsavory jokes in every English speaking country. Scott is trusting and thus surrounded by duplicity, yet he continues challenging himself, because he’s physically challenged and emotionally unstable.

Described by San Francisco Weekly as “stand-up in the very best possible sense – deadpan, ever-alert and hilarious”

Scott has appeared in Mrs. Doubtfire, where, effortlessly, he played a homosexual; and Star Wars: Phantom Menace, where, breathlessly, he wore a body stocking.

Scott knows David Cameron (wink, wink) and Nelson Mandela. Well, he’s met Nelson once. They’re both vegetarians.

“The most fearless and technically perfect stand up on the circuit.” – The Guardian

Andy Askins is a diminutive figure who exudes an air of vulnerability as he steps up to the microphone armed with a guitar and a cheeky grin. It’s an overwhelmingly misleading demeanour which serves to heighten the impact of the killer lines that he delivers.
